Classes, Workshops and Camps

Learn to make your own custom pieces of jewelry with certified Precious Metal Clay Instructor Lana Stamper.  From half days to immersive week long retreats, there is something for everyone looking to learn this fascinating process!

From camp to after school art, we have a wide variety of options for children to learn!  Beginning as young as PreK, hands on programming immerses young minds in the joy of creating.

From basic intro to stitching to complex involved dyeing processes, we have something for everyone interested in fabrics!

Our pottery studios are fully equipped for both hand building and wheel throwing.  We offer monthly memberships for those wishing to be more involved than during one of our weekly classes or intensive workshops.  We offer classes for the complete beginner to the advanced potter wishing to expand their knowledge of clay.

Whether you are new to painting or are a master, we bring in artists to teach a broad range of painting techniques and styles.  Weekly classes and intensive workshops are offered as well as drop in sessions where you can try out a new technique for a fun evening or afternoon out.

Do you have a piece of furniture that could use some refreshing?  Join us in our studios for one and two day workshops to transform everything furniture into something new and fresh for your house or office.  After much trial and error, we have found that Jolie Home paints are our favorite and use these in our workshops.

If you've been looking for a way to learn something new but aren't quite sure about how much time you have to commit to a new hobby, join us for a short course.  Designed to introduce students to something new, these classes and workshops meet from two hours to a full day and are offered in many different techniques for the creatively curious!

Do you have a milestone event to celebrate?  A child's birthday, wedding or a family reunion and wish to make it special?  We will work with you to create a day of fun for everyone involved!  We also offer team building and corporate events.  Many of the class and workshop offerings we have can be customized for private groups and events.  Contact us to arrange your event.

Craft Supplies

We are currently building our printmaking studios.  Beginning with offering courses in woodcarving, linoleum printing, stamp making we hope to expand our printmaking studio to comprise screen printing and a large press for more options for a wider range of printmaking.

Health and safety are important to Mississippi School of Folk Arts.

At this time, we require masks for all those participating in workshops, classes and other studio events.  We have made investments in equipment to help create a safe healthy environment to allow for adequate social distancing during classes.  We ask that those who have recently been exposed to Covid-19 or who are not feeling healthy to not participate in our workshops and events.  We will work with you in order to provide the safest environment for our students, instructors, volunteers and administrative workers.  Thank you for following this protocol.

Photos above with maskless students were taken prior to March of 2020.
