Part of a nine day workshop focusing on Precious Metal Clay, this five day focus on PMC will provide you with the skills you need for confidence in working with PMC. 

Experience- at least some familiarity with metal clay to intermediate


Spring Retreat May 3-7, 2021

Fall Retreat October 11-15, 2021


Day 1- Monday, 9am-5pm Tips, Hints & Tricks

Review metal clay techniques, use silicone to make your own mold, repair a piece of greenware, make coils and snakes, make a bail, use paper clay to with a paper punch, make a pair of earrings and a pendant

Day 2, Tuesday, 9am-5pm Stone Setting Three Ways

Set a stone directly into clay, set a stone using a bezel, set a stone using an embeddable prong, make 2 pendants and a pair of earrings, torch fire earrings, kiln fire pendants

Day 3, Wednesday, 9am-5pm Rings, Rings and More Rings

Make a wrap ring with embellishments and a stone, Make a band ring with embellishments, Make a band ring with layered metal clay top with or without a stone, Kiln fire rings with and without plugs

Day 4, Thursday, 9am-5pm Metal Clay Meets Metal Smith

Make earrings and fire earrings, solder posts on metal clay earrings, make bracelet links, fire bracelet, solder bezel on metal clay bracelet, set stone in bezel

Day 5, Friday, 9am-5pm All About the Finish

Review torch firing, review kiln firing, tumble pieces made throughout the week, polish pieces with rotary tools, patina, create your own design using techniques learned through the week.


This intensive class is designed for the metal clay artist interested in expanding their skills.  Over ten finished pieces will be made over the course of the week.  Cost of all silver is included in price of workshop.  All materials and tools needed are provided.


Please wear closed toe shoes for metal clay workshops, pull back hair and no loose clothing for safety.  Class limited to 10 students, minimum 4.
