May Studio Hours

I will be out of town April 27-29 so there will be no studio hours this Wednesday or Friday. Liz Blalock will be in the studio covering my Thursday class from 3:30-5:30 so you will have access then. She’s unable to be there earlier in the day. Please contact her if you need to be there on either Wednesday or Friday.

We have been invited to participate in a Pop-Up Gallery next week! Yikes! It is May 3, next door in the community center, during the Music Festival concert. Mother’s Day is the following Sunday so this might be a great opportunity to sell your work! I am inviting any of our members who are able to join in. This is not limited to pottery, if you paint, are a photographer, hand craft other things, we need you! I am aware this is very last minute but if you’re able to be a part of this, we will be setting up Tuesday afternoon so get in touch if you have things you’d like to submit. The one thing I ask is that all work submitted is your own work, however, prints of work (cards, etc) are allowed. Please have all work priced and labeled with your name. MSFA keeps 30% of sales through our galleries. Checks for sales will be sent out the following week. This is a fund raiser for MSFA and we also welcome your help with setting up and gallery sitting during the event. Thank you thank you thank you if you can participate in this!

Conner has been trying to schedule some major electrical work on the building around our class schedules and he has arranged for the work to be done this week. Our electrical service will be off during this time. Should work finish earlier, we will let you know and resume our schedule. Just in case, plan on no studio access May 9-13 and we can hope it will be a shorter time without electricity!

Saturday May 7th is our After School Art Student Show! If you have time and are interested in helping to set up both Thursday and Friday, please let me know, all the help I can get is appreciated for this, if you have not been to one of the student shows, they’re a big deal and there is a lot of work to showcase! I hope you will stop in to see theirwork! Because of this, there will be no open studio hours that Saturday.

Susan Bergman’s June workshop has been rescheduled until January 2023. She will be here August 19-21 for a feather filled weekend featuring birds. She is getting me the details but the cost of the workshop is $190 for MSFA members, $225 for non-members. Sunday lunch is included in her workshops. Save the date or if you know you’d like to take the workshop, go ahead and register online for that! If you are unfamiliar with her work, check out her website and her Instagram account. She’s pretty amazing and she’s a very good instructor- well worth the investment in yourself!

I need some helpEd’s for a few regular cleaning chores. If you are able to take on the laundry, even just once in a while if you see a full basket, please let me know. This is usually a weekly chore, we have lots of towels and rags and with the kids’ classes winding down there will be less laundry in general. I am also looking for someone to help with the weekly shop vac mopping. This is a chore that is a lot for one person to do alone but is fairly easy when two people are doing it. If you can help me out with this or if two people want to take this chore over, please let me know.

Thanks everyone!

See you in the studio!

Sarah
